The most important factor in terms of determining the style of hearing aid for you is the level of your hearing loss. Generally speaking, a mild-to-moderate hearing loss means you will be able to wear smaller hearing aids. Smaller and more powerful aids are now available for people with more severe hearing loss.
Producing ear wax is a normal function of the ear’s natural cleaning process. However, having too much ear wax can be addressed by having a more wax-proof model that is easier to clean. Similarly, if you exercise regularly, do a lot of physical activity or live somewhere with high relative humidity, you would be best served with a more moisture-repellent style of hearing aid.
Most people have hearing loss in both ears. Moderns hearing aids support hearing from both sides by communicating wirelessly with each other and constantly comparing information.
