VISION AUSTRALIA SPECTACLE PROGRAM
RETINAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Digital retinal imaging, also known as a retinal photography, is a non-invasive, diagnostic tool that produces digital high resolution, coloured images of your retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels in the back of your eye. The practice has two retina cameras available.
COMPUTERISED VISUAL FIELDS
A visual field test measures how much 'side' vision you have. It is a straightforward test, painless, takes roughly 2-6 minutes per eye and does not involve eye drops. Essentially lights are flashed on, and you are required to press a button whenever you see the white light.
OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOPGRAPHY (OCT)
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging test. It uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of your retina. With OCT, your optometrist can see each of the retina’s distinctive layers. This allows us to map and measure their thickness. These measurements help with diagnosis. They also guide treatment for glaucoma as well as retinal disease, like age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and Diabetic Eye Disease.
On-line vision reporting to Transport For NSW is available for Medical Clearances for those with reportable medical conditions, those over 75 years old, or for people renewing their Driver's Licence.
